Company Update

This month, we are highlighting a new terminal manager, two regional HR managers, two regional sales managers, and the new director of risk management.

Caples Named TUP Terminal Manager

Brad Caples joined Saia in December as our new Tupelo, Mississippi (TUP) terminal manager. Brad has 25 years of transportation industry experience having previously served as a terminal manager for a competing carrier. He attended Itawamba Community College in Fulton, Mississippi.

Regional HR Managers Join the Saia Team

Both Aisha Buchanna and Steve Chairez have joined Saia as regional HR managers (RHRM). Aisha is strategically based out of our New Orleans, LA (NOL) terminal to provide a central hub of HR support to the Houston (HST) Region. Steve is based out of our Sacramento, California (SAC) terminal to provide a central hub of HR support to the Portland (PDX) Region.

In this role, Aisha will serve as an HR partner to HST Regional Manager David Hanlon and his leadership team. In partnership with HST-based RHRM Michael Jones, Aisha will provide HR guidance, strategic and tactical support, and contribute to overall business success. She will support employee relations; turnover reduction; leader development; diversity, equity, and inclusion; change management; effective and efficient hiring; employee engagement; and continuous improvement of the overall employee experience.

In his new role, Steve will serve as an HR partner to PDX Regional Manager Mike Bean and his leadership team, and in conjunction with PDX-based RHRM Alex Strocsher, will provide the same guidance and support.

Aisha has over 20 years of HR experience in a variety of industries including logistics/supply chain, manufacturing, aviation, and hospitality. A proud U.S. Army veteran, she brings expertise in building positive employee relations, navigating complex regulatory environments, and creating organizational effectiveness. Aisha’s knowledge and experience will add great value to the West Division team.

Steve brings over a decade of HR and leadership experience including employee relations, recruitment and selection, payroll, compensation, benefits and policy and procedure development. As an active member of the Society for Human Resource Management, and holding certificates in both California and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulatory standards, Steve’s knowledge and experience will add great value to our West Division team. His academic background includes a bachelor’s degree in psychology and fluency in both English and Spanish.

Mineo Named NWK Regional Sales Manager

In December, Sal Mineo was named a regional sales manager for the Newark Region. In this role, Sal will lead the sales efforts of 10 account executives. He has 11 years of LTL experience in both operations and sales. Most recently, Sal was an area sales manager at a competing carrier, managing a team of 15 account executives.

Womack Promoted to Director of Risk Management

Alana Womack was promoted to the role of director of risk management. In this position, Alana will lead the implementation and execution of the company’s risk management strategy, which includes creating solutions to minimize exposure and mitigate/prevent losses for Saia.

Alana has been an invaluable member of our team since she joined the company in 2017. She has consistently demonstrated outstanding skills, collaboration, dedication, and commitment to building and developing talent. Alana will continue to lead the casualty claims and workers’ compensation teams based out of the Houma General Office (HGO).

Robinson Receives Promotion; Named ATL Regional Sales Manager

LeTilia Robinson has been named our new Atlanta (ATL) regional sales manager. In this role, she will be responsible for coaching and developing our ATL sales team.

With over 30 years of experience in the transportation and logistics industry, LeTilia joined Saia in 2014, successfully serving first as an account executive and then later transitioning to a 3PL national account executive. Prior to joining Saia, she worked in both sales and operations/training with two other national carriers. She possesses a bachelor’s degree in business administration.
