Around Saia

This month, we spotlight the retirement of two line drivers.

Line Driver Retires After 28 Years

Kansas City (KCY) Human Resource Manager Ron Ryan sent photos of Omaha (OMA) Line Driver Robert Stone’s retirement celebration in January. He said that Robert had driven for Saia since 1996. “The group of drivers in the picture are all OMA drivers that have retired in the past few years,” said Ron. Robert, we wish you many happy, relaxing years! Thank you for your service to the company!

HST Line Driver Celebrates Retirement

Houston (HST) Terminal Manager Don Langford said they recently celebrated the retirement of HST Line Driver James Moore after 26 years with the company.

In addition to driving (3.5 million safe miles), James also had served as a driver-trainer since 2008 and was selected to represent Saia as one of 20 captains on the American Trucking Associations' 2017-2018 America's Road Team, an "elite group of professionals who serve as trucking industry ambassadors.”

“He is a big part of the HST legacy!” explained Don. “We will miss him!”
